Centennial Golf Course has been serving Treasure Valley golfers for over 30 years. In the mid 1980's a group of passionate community leaders and citizens led a grassroots campaign to fund and build Nampa's first golf course. Completed in 1987 Centennial Golf Course quickly became and remains a Valley favorite. Known for its large contoured fairways and putting surfaces, Centennial was designed to accommodate a broad range of golf abilities. Centennial also offers some of the most affordable golf rates in the Valley!!!

Minutes: A motion was made by Neal Murphy, seconded by Fred Sutton and approved by all the members present to accept the minutes of 12/17/24.
Financial Reports: Tony Blasius reported for Hadley Haskell at Centennial that revenue for December and January was just “okay,” with strong pass sales making up for weather interrupting play. But even with the weather we were only down a couple hundred rounds from last year. Scott Nicholes reported for Ridgecrest that December revenue was actually up from last year, primarily due to pass sales. January was ‘Okay” because we had some decent weather before the snow hit, but February is down so far because of the snow. Jennifer Ayala-Vanderpool reported that most expenses were normal for this time of year for both courses, except for some capital expenses at Ridgecrest for the new well. A motion was made by Steve Wilson, seconded by Neal Murphy and approved by all the members present to accept the financial reports.
Operations/Course Conditions: Steve Wilson read Brandon Crim’s operations report for Centennial. Idaho Power trenched for fiber optic cable along the canal on the side of holes 12 and 17. The water tower crew trenched a line for their drainpipe behind #3 green and #4 tee. They did hit several irrigation pipes and wires that will have to be dug up and repaired when the ground thaws. They have been doing normal winter maintenance on all equipment. When the ground thaws they will be installing irrigation for the new nursery green to the back left of #14 green, and seeding later when weather permits. They will be doing touch-up on trees and when the weather warms up will be sodding around some of them. They are working with the irrigation designer on the new irrigation system. They have designs for the irrigation, ground cover, and rocks for the parking lot islands, and will begin work when weather permits. They are also working with Facilities to better insulate the potable water pipe that runs over the canal, and eventually to the restrooms on 13/14. Neal Murphy reported for Centennial that there has been limited play due to weather. Underbrush is being removed and trees trimmed along 13/14. Divots not being fixed continue to be an issue. He was asked a question as to why there was not a fee discount for the course being “under construction,” referring to the Idaho Power and water tower trenching. Tony Blasius indicated that we are already playing under discounted winter rates. Neal was also asked why there was no additional military rate discount under winter rates. (There is a senior/military discount under normal rates.) That can possibly be discussed this fall when 2026 rates are discussed. Bob Nash reported for Ridgecrest that prior to the snow, the course was in good condition. He also stated that the mats on the driving range have been an excellent upgrade, especially for off-season play. Scott Nicholes indicated that some temporary greens are getting pretty beat up and it may require some time for those areas to come back in the spring. Steve Wilson read Josh Davidson’s operations report for Ridgecrest. Well drilling is underway and a discharge pipe has been laid from the pond to the tie-in near the well. Estimated completion is late March. They are doing all normal winter servicing of equipment. They have been cleaning out ponds and ditches and pruning trees around the course. They are doing snow removal in the parking lot. Mechanic Shaun Conway has retired, and congratulations to him. Former Maintenance Technician Leon Adams has assumed the Mechanic role. They currently have an opening for a Maintenance Technician.
Public Relations Reports: Jim Kile reported for Centennial that weather has permitted some play this winter, but obviously no events have taken place. June York reported the same for Ridgecrest, but also indicated that staff have been busy inside the clubhouse cleaning and getting ready for the season.
Golf Manager Report: Tony Blasius reported that revenue was flat due to weather, but strong pass sales have helped mitigate that. It’s good to see the well project underway, the water tower drainpipe finished, as well Idaho Power getting power to the restroom on #13 at Ridgecrest. He’s getting good feedback on the course apps, with over one thousand downloads, and indicated they will be adding functionality as we go through the season. He is working with a sign company to get some new signs for the Centennial clubhouse now that the remodel is finished. Pass sales have been strong, and City Passes are almost sold out. Tony wanted to send kudos to the maintenance staff at both courses for getting equipment ready for the season. A motion was made by Jim Kile, seconded by Neal Murphy and approved by all the members present to accept the Operations/ Course Conditions, Public Relations and Golf Manager Reports.
Old Business
- Review Golf Commission Policy: The policy is still under legal review. Tony Blasius indicated that the city has hired an attorney, so hopefully we’ll get the policy reviewed soon.
New Business
- Mayor’s Tournament: Tony Blasius reported that there are only 4 team spots left, and they have already secured more sponsors than last year. Todd Durbin indicated that letters announcing the scholarship opportunity will go out to high school golf coaches on March 3rd.

- Darrin Johnson announced that he is retiring as Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Nampa, effective April 4th. Darrin has worked for the city for over 30 years and will be very much missed.
